When the machine you need does not exist

Some operations do not have a machine you can buy. A component that needs holding a particular way to grind, a loading sequence that a person is currently doing by hand, a gauging step that happens off the machine and should not.

We design and build to the component and the cycle time, not from a catalogue. Because we do mechanical and electrical work in the same shop, the fixture and the control that drives it are designed together rather than handed between two suppliers.

What we take on

  • Special purpose machines built around a specific operation and component.
  • Grinding fixtures — workholding designed for repeatability and for the operator to load quickly and the same way every time.
  • Automatic loading and handling systems, including retrofitting loading onto an existing grinder as part of a retrofit.

How an SPM job starts

With the component, not the machine. Send us the part drawing, the current method and the cycle time you need, and the conversation starts from there. As with everything else we build, the control side runs on Delta and the source code is yours.

Questions about this

Common questions.

Do you build special purpose machines?

Yes. We design and build custom special purpose machines, grinding fixtures and automatic loading systems to suit a specific component and cycle time, with mechanical and electrical work carried out in our own workshop at GIDC Wadhwan.

What do you need from us to quote a special purpose machine?

The component drawing, how the operation is done today, and the cycle time you need. That is enough to start a serious conversation; a firm quotation follows a discussion of the process in detail.

Can you add automatic loading to a machine we already have?

Often, yes — automatic loading and handling can be added to an existing grinder, usually as part of a retrofit so the loading sequence and the grinding cycle are controlled by the same PLC.

Send us a photo of the machine.

Two or three photos — the machine, the nameplate and the existing panel — are enough for an initial assessment. Anil answers directly.
